About Me
Kishor Sharma is a Nepali documentary photographer, photography educator and filmmaker whose photography, and films, composedly defend the nuanced simplicity of people, life, and their landscape. Sharma has extensive experience in documenting stories through photos and films, working with diverse communities throughout Asia.
Sharma has a Masters’ degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from Purwanchal University, Nepal and also completed Advanced Visual Storytelling course from the Danish School of Media and Journalism in Aarhus, Denmark. His work has been published in TIME, GEO, The Guardian, Asian Geographic, Caravan Magazine, Gallerie International, RAW View Magazine, Nepali Times, Republica among others. His photographs have also been exhibited at various galleries and photo festivals in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Finland, Australia, France, UK and Japan.
He was awarded with Asia Prize in Photo City Sagamihara 14th General Photography festival for his long-term work on the last nomadic tribe of Nepal, the Rautes. Sharma is the author of ‘Living in the Mist’, a photobook on the Rautes.
